Khulna

Khulna is the third largest city in Bangladesh after Dhaka and Chittagong. Khulna district and Khulna division headquarters are located in Khulna city. Khulna is located on the banks of Rupsa and Bhairab in southwestern Bangladesh. Khulna is one of the oldest river ports in Bangladesh. Naming

Khulna division has been named after Khulna Sadar. According to the conventional tradition, Khulneeshwari temple was situated on the banks of the Bhairab river, 1.5 kilometers away from Khulna city and named after Khulna region after the name of this goddess.

Climate and climate
